THE GRUDGE PURCHASE: SELF LEVELLING SCREEDS

29 April 2026
With the war in Iran, prices of materials have jumped, forcing people to shop around. Commodities that worked at a price that were once acceptable, now become more grudge buys as prices increase. One of these commodity products is self-levelling screeds. These screeds are versatile in that they are easy to install, set rather quickly and cover a lot of ugly, uneven concrete to give a smooth, level, hard surface on which to apply a flooring finish of choice, from vinyl sheets to wood laminates, epoxy screeds to ceramic tiles.
The grudge comes in so far as money well spent on self-levelling screeds is inevitably covered cover by what ever is installed over it, significantly increasing the price per square meter of the finished flooring without any perceived benefit by the recipient of the floor. Yet without it, the final finish of the floor could be rejected. Which is why we have kept our pricing low, without compromising the performance of our self-levelling screeds. Both of our self-levelling screed set to over 30MPa hardness (28 days), far in excess of standard concrete slab strength.

The FEATHER-FLOW LITE is priced such that it adds value to the floor finish without adding significantly to the cost per square meter, and the FEATHER-FLOW SUPER is priced slightly higher but give exceptional strength for more demanding floor finishes like 1mm to 5mm thick epoxy and polyurethane screeds that are themselves extremely hard and resistant. Don’t spend more money on self-levelling screeds than you need to, but don’t compromise of the quality of the type of self-levelling screed you use.

FEATHER FLOW – where cost meets performance.
