TECHNICAL DATASHEET
UV SEALER
Solvent Based Thin Film Polyurethane Sealer
UV SEALER is a solvent based thin film polyurethane sealer for use on walls and floors where a high chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, stain resistance and non-yellowing sealing is required. Hard curing and long lasting, this sealer will adhere to all concrete, brick, tiles and previously coated surfaces. Available in clear and colours.
TYPICAL APPLICATION
For sealing over indoor and outdoor surfaces where high abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and UV stability is required.
ADVANTAGES
• Ease of application
• Excellent coverage
• Early hard set
• High chemical resistance
• High abrasion resistance
• High stain resistance
• High flexibility
• Gloss / Satin / Matt finish
• Moisture tolerant
• Fast cure
WATCH POINTS
• Apply in well-ventilated areas.
• Do not expose the coated surface to moisture for 24 hours
• Ensure rollers are dry before use
• Clean spills or splatters as soon as noticeable with thinners while the product is still liquid.
• Do not dilute with acetone, use only xylene.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation:
Surfaces to be clean, sound and free of deleterious substances. Remove all laitance, oil, grease, paints, mould oil or curing compound from surfaces using wire brush, bush hammer, scabbler or other plant as appropriate. Previously coated surfaces will need to be well abraded or stripped of the coatings if not securely bonded. Dense, sealed surfaces will need to be grinded open to create a mechanical profile.
Priming:
No priming is required. An acrylic primer can be used to seal up porous surfaces such as COLOUR RETAINER and prevent unnecessary draw in of the first few coats on application. As well as provide a more even and consistent finish.
Application:
Mix by hand and do not aerate the mix especially if a mechanical mixer is used. Mix the resin and hardener together in a clean bucket or metal drum. Roll out with a dry mohair roller, being careful to pick up roller lines and ends where these build up and allow to settle. Allow 1-2 hours between coats. Two coats are recommended for optimum sealing and protection. Allow 24 hours without exposure to surface moisture to prevent discolouration then open to light traffic.
