TECHNICAL DATASHEET
STONE CARPET UV SEALER
Solvent Based Thin Film Polyurethane Sealer
STONE CARPET UV SEALER is a solvent based thin film polyurethane sealer for use on STONE CARPET where a high chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, stain resistance and non-yellowing sealing is required. Hard curing and long lasting, this sealer will adhere to the stone surfaces. Available in colours to match the STONE CARPET application.
TYPICAL APPLICATION
For sealing over exterior STONE CARPET applications where high abrasion resistance, chemical resistance and UV stability is required.
ADVANTAGES
• Ease of application
• Excellent coverage
• Early hard set
• High chemical resistance
• High abrasion resistance
• High stain resistance
• High flexibility
• Moisture tolerant
• Fast cure
WATCH POINTS
• Apply in well-ventilated areas.
• Do not expose the coated surface to moisture for 24 hours
• Ensure rollers are dry before use
• Clean spills or splatters as soon as noticeable with thinners while the product is still liquid.
• Do not dilute, use as supplied.
• Ensure the pigments in the resin are evenly suspended with frequent agitation.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation:
Apply as soon as the STONE CARPET application has set hard. Ensure no water contamination has occurred and no materials have landed on the surfaces which must still be clean.
Priming:
No priming is required.
Application:
Mix the resin by hand and do not aerate the mix especially if a mechanical mixer is used. Mix the resin and hardener together in a clean bucket or metal drum. Roll out with a dry mohair roller, being careful to pick up roller lines and ends where these build up and allow to settle. Only one coat is recommended however if more are required, allow 1-2 hours between coats. Allow 24 hours without exposure to surface moisture to prevent discolouration then open to light traffic.
