SILICOTE
Silicone Based Water-proofing Penetrating Sealer
A colourless, clear deep-penetrating silicone-based water-proofer which improves weathering of concrete and brickwork. SILICOTE contains the maximum concentration of the finest silicone resins with hydrocarbon solvents. The efficiency of the product as a colourless water-proofing compound is further improved by the addition of a dispersing agent that ensures maximum depth of penetration and the rapid formation of a completely water-repellent surface.
TYPICAL APPLICATION
When applied by brush or spray to surfaces of face brickwork, natural stonework, cement, paint and asbestos sheeting, it penetrates deeply beneath the surface to line the pores with a thin water repellent coating without changing the appearance or affecting the breathing property of the wall.

WATCH POINTS
• Masonry: The application does not darken or form a sheen on the surface treated, If required, the surface can, after application, be decorated with oil paints.
• Surfaces coated with SILICOTE will not allow pater-based paints to adhere.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation:
The surface to be treated should be dry and free of loose matter, moss, algae growth and curing compounds. Defective joints in brick and stonework should be repointed. It is not necessary to treat hair-line cracks, but large cracks should be made good and allowed to dry before treatment. Efflorescence should be removed from the surface by brushing. For maximum penetration smooth dense surfaces should be prepared by grit blasting, water blasting or by other mechanical means.
Priming:
No priming required.
Application:
Apply in two coats by brush or low-pressure spray. Spray nozzle should have a nozzle not smaller than 5mm. The SILICOTE is flooded onto the surface so that a rundown of approximately 20 cm is obtained. On absorbent surfaces, repeat or increase rate of application until surface is completely saturated . Ensure adequate ventilation when applying the product. Coverage will vary according to the porosity of the surface treated, but as a guide, an average coverage of 5m2 / litre per coat can be expected. Allow a minimum interval of 2 hours between coats.
