TECHNICAL DATASHEET
PLASTER LITE
Low Density, Fast Set, Finishing Plaster
PLASTER LITE is a lightweight water-resistant powdered product requiring only the addition of water. The product consists of blended hydraulic cements, fillers, shrinkage compensating materials, hydrophobic additives and accelerating chemicals.
TYPICAL APPLICATION
MULTI LITE is ideally used in skim coat applications; Dry Walling applications (fibre tape should be applied over joints); Reinforced joint repairs; Ceiling applications (soffits); In and outdoor repairs to concrete and plaster; Overlay of plaster surfaces for smooth and textured finishes; and as a filler for small cracks and holes
ADVANTAGES
• Reduces paint use for immaculate finishing
• Paintable in 24 hours
• 1 -2 hours fast set
• Priming not necessary on all substrates
• Equipment water washable
• Minimal wastage in product application
• Obtain the desired finish with one application
WATCH POINTS
• Porous surfaces may need priming and or wetting down first
• Do not over water or cracking will occur
• Do not reconstitute with water once starting to set
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Surface Preparation:
Surfaces are to be clean, sound and free of deleterious substances. Remove all laitance, oil, grease, mould oil or curing compound from concrete surfaces using wire brush, bush hammer, scabbler or other plant as appropriate. Mechanically smooth out very rough surfaces as much as possible. Outdoor and porous surfaces need to be wet down or primed.
Priming:
Prime outdoors and porous surfaces with SCREED PRIMER. Allow for penetration into the substrate and remove any excess pooling of primer. Do not apply over wet pooled primer as this will create runs in the screed and surface discolouration. Allow to dry to a tacky feel, 1-2 hours, before overlaying.
Application:
Mix 10Lts clean water with 20Kg of MULTI LITE in a bucket using a mechanical mixer. Ensure all lumps have been broken up. Apply over primed areas with a steel trowel to a smooth, dense surface. Allow to dry 6 – 8 hours before sanding out any trowel lines or imperfections to a smooth, dry surface. Seal or overcoat as desired.
Curing:
All exposed areas of plaster to direct sunlight and/ or wind must be treated with CURE 200 curing compounds or kept wetted out for at least 2 days.
