TECHNICAL DATASHEET

FLOORCOAT
Concrete Hardener and Dust-proofer

FLOORCOAT is an aqueous solution of sodium silicate plus surface active chemicals. It combines with the free lime produced during hydration of the cement and forms hard insoluble crystals thus binding the particles together sealing the concrete surface and improving the impermeable and non-dusting properties. The seal acts as a curing compound over green concrete.

TYPICAL APPLICATION
For the hardening of concrete, dust proofing and curing of green concrete.

ADVANTAGES
• Treating new and old concrete surfaces.
• Eliminates dusting of concrete floor surfaces
• Re-treatment of concrete surfaces when necessary.
• Film breakdown period 48 days
• Minimizes bleeding and segregation
• Increases strength at all ages
• Increases resistance to freeze / thaw cycles

WATCH POINTS
• Sealing of new concrete: Allow to cure fully for a minimum of 21 days.
• Dense Floors - Hard compacted power floated surfaces may not have enough porosity to allow absorption of the FLOORCOAT. Test a small area prior to treatment to ensure penetration.
• Take care to protect glass, paintwork, brickwork, finishing, etc. from splashes. Do not use on coloured concrete surfaces, brickwork or masonry.
• FLOORCOAT 1055 will not rectify disintegrating concrete

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Surface Preparation:
Remove all oil, grease, etc. Clean the floor surface with a hard broom or wire brush and then remove all dust and loose matter by soft broom or industrial vacuum. If wetting the floor surface has taken place during preparation, it must be allowed to dry before commencing with FLOORCOAT application

Priming:
No priming is required.

Application:
Dilute the first coat FLOORCOAT with two times its volume of water. Stir dilution well before use. Using a plastic watering can pour the liquid evenly over the concrete surface then sweep the product to and fro over the area to ensure maximum and even penetration. Allow to dry for 2 hours. Any excess liquid not totally absorbed into the surface should be removed by mops or squeegees before allowing to dry. Apply the second coat undiluted in a similar manner. Some surface areas may require three coats.
